FAMILY THERAPY

Family can be an integral part of our lives. It can provide a sense of security and belonging we need to cultivate our social and emotional selves. While familial relationships are often the longest and closest relationships a person has, they can also be the most fraught. It can be a challenge to address negative patterns, hurt feelings, and deep-seated resentment that can develop over the years. Family therapy can help you develop the ability to communicate effectively, work through conflicts, and strengthen relationships.

When beginning family therapy at Best Life Therapy, we’ll start by helping your family understand how the family system functions and how individual family members relate to each other. Family therapy is a way for families to learn how to nurture bonds and work together to solve problems. Rather than blaming, family therapy helps each family member see their conflicts as part of a greater family system where everyone plays a role. Our therapists work collaboratively with family members, addressing personal and familial issues making them feel seen and heard. Coming from this foundation of security and respect to guide each member towards a united whole.

TEEN THERAPY

Teen years are a time of growth and transition. During these years, teens undergo significant developmental, hormonal, and social changes. Though these changes are natural, they can present in many ways. Emotions become heightened, external pressures increase and intensify, and behavioral changes occur. At Best Life Therapy, we help teens learn to deal with challenges related to anxiety, depression, relationships with friends and family, school-related pressures, dating, and identity issues. Our therapists always take each person’s individual situation into consideration and tailor our interventions to suit the needs of each teen we work with. At Best Life Therapy all of our therapists are committed to providing culturally sensitive therapeutic services and will always be respectful in acknowledging this in the work.

Adolescents often struggle with understanding their internal experiences as well as the inability to verbalize these with parents and other safe persons. In therapy, we work with teens to gain that understanding and to make the choice to turn to parents for connection and acceptance.

TELEHEALTH 

At Best Life Therapy we believe mental health care should be accessible. As such, we are very pleased to offer all of our services via HIPAA-compliant telehealth video and phone software. Now, you can meet regularly with your therapist from the comfort and safety of your home.

 

Telehealth: We can hold sessions on Doxy.me, a secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Doxy.me works on all popular browsers as well as smartphones using iOS or Android, giving you access to therapy from wherever you are. We can also do phone sessions if video is not possible.

CONSULTATION

We provide a range of consultation services. Consultation areas include: clinical consultation to other mental and medical health professionals and organizations; education and providing feedback on psychological concepts to writers and producers in the film and TV industry (e.g., script and on-set consultation).
