Dr. Loretta Billoups, PsyD

Psychological Associate

About me

Dr. Loretta Billoups is a psychological associate who is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families who are in a place to actively make meaningful changes toward a balanced and fulfilling life. She believes that all people are capable of healing, resilience, and personal growth, and that your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are deeply interconnected.

Before becoming a clinician, Dr. Billoups spent twelve years as a Custody Assistant and Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Her service across multiple jail and court facilities exposed her to individuals facing systemic challenges within the criminal justice system. Inspired by these experiences, she transitioned into clinical work to support and advocate for those who might otherwise suffer in silence.

Dr. Billoups treatment specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, women’s health concerns, parenting stress, family dynamics, life transitions, and the unique high-stress challenges faced by first responders and law enforcement professionals. Dr. Billoups approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and she utilizes cognitive-behavioral and humanistic modalities and principles, incorporating humor thoughtfully and appropriately for healing and connection; while using warmth, compassion, empathy, and a collaborative style to build a safe, nonjudgmental, and empowering relationship with her clients.

Dr. Billoups is a supporter, ally, and provider of culturally responsive care to the BIPOC community and individuals from all diverse backgrounds and respects that taking the first step to seek support is a difficult, courageous, and significant action on the road to a more whole and gratified life.
